Information we collect
Information you give us
- Demo requests and waitlist sign-ups: your name, email address, and optional phone number, plus the page you sent it from, any campaign tags (
utm_*) in that page’s address, and a random lead ID. We email it to ourselves and file it as a lead in our customer-relationship system (CRM), with a note that the request went through. - Support and chat: your contact details, messages, and any information you choose to include.
- Purchases: Stripe collects payment and billing information on its checkout page. We receive transaction and contact details needed to confirm and support your purchase, but we do not receive your full payment-card number.
The public marketing site does not currently offer customer accounts. If account features are added, we will update this Policy before collecting account data.
Information collected automatically
Unless you turn it off, Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits without cookies or identifiers: the page path (not its query string), the referring site, your country, your browser and device type, and page-load timings. See Basic measurement.
Unless you opt out of analytics, Google Analytics 4 collects page views, session activity, interactions and events, approximate location, referral information, and device, operating-system, and browser details. Our custom events record purchase-button clicks, successful demo-form and waitlist submissions, and completed purchases (plan, price, and Stripe’s checkout reference), but never include your name, email, phone number, chat text, or form contents.
Unless you opt out of analytics, PostHog collects page views, clicks and other interactions with the page, errors the site runs into, the same purchase, demo-form, and waitlist events, and your browser and device details. It does not record what you type into forms.
Unless you opt out of advertising, the Meta Pixel reports the pages you view to Meta, along with your browser and device details and Meta’s cookie identifiers. We do not send your name, email, phone number, chat text, or form contents to Meta.
Unless you opt out of advertising, the Reddit Pixel likewise reports the pages you view, and that you sent a demo request or waitlist sign-up, to Reddit, along with your browser and device details and Reddit’s cookie identifiers. We do not send your name, email, phone number, chat text, or form contents to Reddit.
Google, PostHog, Meta, and Reddit receive the address of each page you view. On the page you reach after paying, that address includes the plan you bought and Stripe’s reference for your checkout session (not your card or billing details).
Your browser sends an IP address when connecting to a website or provider. Google says Analytics uses IP addresses during collection but does not log or store individual IP addresses in Analytics. Hosting, security, chat, and payment providers may also receive ordinary request information such as an IP address and browser details.
How we use information
We use information to:
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and StockAtlas;
- respond to demo requests, support questions, and chat messages;
- process and support purchases;
- understand which pages and features are useful;
- measure campaigns and, unless you opt out, show remarketing or retargeting ads; and
- meet legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not use analytics or advertising data to make credit, insurance, employment, or investment decisions about you. StockAtlas is an investment-research tool; it is not a lender, broker, or investment adviser.
Analytics and advertising
Basic measurement (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, see which pages and referring sites are popular, and check how quickly pages load. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and assigns no identifier to you or your device, so it cannot recognize you across pages or visits. Cloudflare receives your IP address to deliver the script and the measurement, derives your country from it, and reports to us only aggregate counts. Cloudflare does not use this data for advertising. Learn more in Cloudflare Web Analytics and the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Basic measurement runs by default because it is limited to aggregate statistics we use to improve the site. You can turn it off at any time by unchecking Basic measurement in Cookie settings, which also turns off analytics and advertising; “Reject optional” alone does not turn it off.
Standard Google Analytics 4
Unless you opt out of analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page views, sessions, and events; understand device and browser types; estimate general geography; and see how visitors use the site. Google Analytics places a first-party cookie such as _ga in your browser to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google’s tag loads when you open the site and does not load after you opt out of analytics.
PostHog
Unless you opt out of analytics, we use PostHog to see how visitors use the site, which pages and buttons lead to demo requests, sign-ups, and purchases, and which errors visitors run into, so we can fix them. PostHog stores a random identifier in a first-party cookie and in your browser’s local storage (names starting with ph_) so it can tell visits and sessions apart. It loads when you open the site, does not load after you opt out of analytics, and its cookie and stored data are removed when you opt out. We use PostHog for analytics only, not advertising. Learn more in the PostHog Privacy Policy.
Our CRM
When you send a demo request or join the waitlist, your submission is filed as a lead in our CRM along with a record that it went through. That happens whatever your cookie choices, because it is the request you asked us to handle. Unless you opt out of analytics, we also keep the random lead ID in a first-party cookie (stockatlas_lead_id, one year) so we can connect a later purchase confirmation on our thank-you page to your earlier request. After you opt out, the lead ID exists only while the page is open and nothing is stored.
Google Analytics Advertising Features
We use Google Analytics Advertising Features for remarketing and retargeting through Google Ads. Unless you opt out of advertising, we may place your browser in an audience based on activity on this site. Google can then show you a StockAtlas ad later on Google services or on sites and apps that use Google advertising services.
For this purpose, we and Google use first-party identifiers, including the Google Analytics cookie, together with Google advertising cookies or other third-party advertising identifiers. The first-party identifier helps recognize activity on this site; Google advertising identifiers help recognize an eligible browser or device in Google’s advertising systems. Used together, they support audience creation, ad delivery, frequency controls, and campaign measurement. We do not send demo-form fields or chat contents to Google Analytics or Google Ads.
Google acts under its own terms and privacy policy when it processes this data. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Analytics Advertising Features policy.
Meta Pixel
We use the Meta Pixel to measure and retarget ads on Facebook and Instagram. It loads when you open the site, unless you have opted out of advertising or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. It then tells Meta which pages you view on this site, along with your IP address, browser and device details, and identifiers such as the _fbp cookie (and _fbc when you arrive from a Meta ad). Meta may match this activity to your Facebook or Instagram account to show you StockAtlas ads, build audiences, and report how our ads perform. We do not send demo-form fields or chat contents to Meta.
Meta acts under its own terms and privacy policy when it processes this data. Learn more in the Meta Privacy Policy.
Reddit Pixel
We use the Reddit Pixel to measure and retarget ads on Reddit. It loads when you open the site, unless you have opted out of advertising or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. It then tells Reddit which pages you view on this site, and that a demo request or waitlist sign-up went through (a “Lead” event with a random ID, not what you typed), along with your IP address, browser and device details, and identifiers such as the _rdt_uuid cookie (and _rdt_cid when you arrive from a Reddit ad). Reddit may match this activity to your Reddit account to show you StockAtlas ads, build audiences, and report how our ads perform. We do not send demo-form fields or chat contents to Reddit.
Reddit acts under its own terms and privacy policy when it processes this data. Learn more in the Reddit Privacy Policy.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information for money. We share information only with providers that help us run the site and business, when you direct us to, or when law requires it:
- Google: Analytics, campaign measurement, and remarketing through Google Ads.
- PostHog: product analytics and error reporting for the site.
- Meta: campaign measurement and retargeting on Facebook and Instagram through the Meta Pixel.
- Reddit: campaign measurement and retargeting on Reddit through the Reddit Pixel.
- Cloudflare: cookieless, aggregate site analytics (basic measurement).
- Web3Forms: transmits demo requests to our email inbox.
- Heroku: hosts our CRM, which stores demo requests and waitlist sign-ups as leads.
- tawk.to: provides the live chat on the site.
- Stripe: hosts checkout and processes payments when you choose to purchase.
- GitHub Pages: hosts and delivers the public website.
These providers apply their own retention periods and privacy terms.
Selling, sharing, and targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. When the Google advertising features and the Meta and Reddit Pixels run, the information they collect may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or processing for targeted advertising (cross-context behavioral advertising), under California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and other US state privacy laws. The categories involved are identifiers (cookie IDs and IP address), internet activity on this site (pages viewed and the events described above), and approximate location derived from your IP address. They go to Google, Meta, and Reddit so we can measure our ads and show StockAtlas ads to you and people like you.
You can opt out of this selling, sharing, and targeted advertising at any time: choose Reject optional or uncheck Advertising in Cookie settings in the footer, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email . We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16, and we do not use sensitive personal information for these purposes.
How long we keep information
We keep Google Analytics user-level and event-level data for 14 months. We keep demo requests, support messages, chat records available to us, and related contact information for up to 14 months after the most recent interaction, then delete or anonymize them unless we need them longer for a legal claim, fraud prevention, or another legal obligation.
Cloudflare keeps basic-measurement data only as aggregate statistics, under its own retention limits. Your saved privacy choices expire after 14 months so we can show the notice again. The duplicate-submission timestamp is useful for only 60 seconds. Stripe and other providers keep information under their own policies. We may need to retain transaction, tax, or accounting records longer where law requires it.
Legal bases and your rights
We process information to respond to requests you make, to complete and support purchases, to operate, secure, and improve the site, to measure and advertise our service (which you can opt out of as described above), and to meet legal obligations.
Depending on the US state where you live, you may have rights to know about, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; to opt out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising; to not be treated differently for using these rights; and to appeal our decision about a request. You may use an authorized agent where state law allows. To make a request, email . We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited information needed to document the request.
Deleting information held by us does not automatically delete information controlled separately by Google, Meta, Reddit, Stripe, or another provider. Use the provider controls linked above or contact that provider as well.
Security, children, and changes
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. Please do not put sensitive financial information, account credentials, or payment-card details into the demo or chat fields.
Children
The site and StockAtlas are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information so we can review and delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the site, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide any additional notice or choice required by law.
